Treatments
Directions Physical Therapy & Acupuncture uses state-of-the-art technology along with traditional and holistic approaches to help patients relieve pain, improve strength, flexibility, and function, while promoting better overall health and wellness.
Myofascial Release
Massage is one of the oldest healing arts and is an integral part of physical therapy programs today that treat a wide range of conditions from low back pain to depression and beyond.
Pelvic Rehabilitation
Pilates is rapidly gaining recognition from orthopedists, physical therapists, and athletes as a highly effective rehabilitation option for musculoskeletal and neuromuscular injuries.
Nerve Mobilization
Like tree branches, nerves run through our body transmitting sensations to the brain and spinal cord. But too much tension or compression on them can lead to tingling, numbness, inflammation or a variety of conditions including carpal and tarsal tunnel syndrome, sciatica, arm and leg pain and more.
Joint Articulation
Joints connect our bones and provide the support we need for everyday movement. Strain, stress or injury on the joints not only interferes with that movement, but can also cause pain and discomfort. Knee, shoulder, ankle and hip pain are among the most common areas to be affected.

- Back & Neck Pain
- Knee Injuries
- Shoulder Injuries
- TMJ Dysfunction
Back and neck pain are common ailments for people of all activity levels and ages and can be a symptom of many different injuries, issues or diseases. Back and neck issues, especially stiffness, spasms, and postural issues, are the most common conditions that Keiko Yanai, PT, DPT and the Directions Physical Therapy & Acupuncture providers treat. They have years of experience pinpointing even the most remote issues that may contribute to your acute or chronic back and neck pain
Knee injuries are common for everyone; athletes often sustain overuse injuries from repetitive movement, elderly patients have an extremely high susceptibility for osteoarthritis of the knee joint, and the average person can easily sustain a tear with a simple fall. Keiko Yanai, PT, DPT and her team of experts, are extremely skilled in treating any type of orthopedic knee issue as well as guiding a patient through post-operative rehabilitation following surgery on the knee. With a combination of therapy techniques, the Directions Physical Therapy & Acupuncture not only help patients recover from knee injuries, but return to oftentimes returns athletes or active individuals to their previous performance levels
We are able to rotate our shoulder joints more than any other joint in our bodies due to its unique design. While the design allows us to rotate our shoulders fully, it also makes the joint highly unstable, leaving it extremely susceptible to injury. Keiko Yanai, DPT, PT and the rehabilitation specialists at Directions Physical Therapy & Acupuncture have years of experience helping patients overcome shoulder injuries and recovering from shoulder surgery, returning them to their everyday life
Temporomandibular joint dysfunction, also known as TMD or TMJ, is a term used to describe moderate to severe pain and dysfunction of the joint located at the front of the ear where the skull and lower jaw meet. The muscles surrounding the TMJ and leading into the face allow us to move the jaw. The most common signs of TMJ onset are restricted movement in the jaw, clicking and popping noises during jaw movement and pain while trying to open the jaw. Although temporomandibular joint dysfunction is not a fatal syndrome, restriction and comfort are the two biggest factors affected by the 20-30% of the population that acquires the syndrome
